The Sparrowhawk is the smallest rapter in the world. It is fierce and protective of its young against much bigger predators. Its ability to swoop from a great height is impressive. Accepting her as my power animal at the age of croning (56) was brought about by a visit by a huge image of her wrapping her wings around me in protection and support. Several days later, camped near a stream, I looked up to see a real life version sitting on a branch not far above me. Our eyes met. And I knew. I was about to enter into another whole phase of growing under Sparrowhawks tutelage. Flying high, while standing up for what I love,  has been a tough lesson to learn. Still trying.
